VISAKHAPATNAM: Vijayanagaram turned
into a battlefield on Friday with Andhra
activists targeting p.c.c cheif and state transport minister bosta and other
leaders of the Congress, even as protests intensified across Seemandhra and
Rayalaseema regions against the Union cabinet's approval of statehood for
Telangana.
Protesters damaged
and torched Satya College, run by Botsa. The extent of the damage could not be
ascertained, though officials said that the protesters have set ablaze
furniture, computers and the records of the college.
A mob also torched
the office of Satya Cable Network, run by Botsa and did not allow the
fire-fighting personnel to battle the blaze. The driver of the fire engine was
beaten up by the protesters and forced to leave along with his vehicle.
Hundreds of the
agitators barged into the Janapriya Bar and Restaurant on main road, in which
Botsa allegedly has a stake, looting and damaging it.
